The Best Summer Sneakers
Summer is finally here, which means it’s time to stock up on some new sneakers to carry you through the rest of the season. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorites — from the new Adidas Terrex Free Hikers, to some colorful running shoes from Karhu, a Finnish brand that’s been making sneakers for more than 100 years. Check out the full list below, and shop all of these styles over in the gear section.
The Adidas Terrex Free Hiker is the first hiker shoe with Boost technology. In addition to the cushioning Boost midsole, the Adidas Terrex Free Hiker also features a rugged, no-slip Continental outsole, and abrasion-resistant welded reinforcements at stress points. The result? A clean-cut hiking shoe that can hold up to the rigors of a day hike, but is stylish enough for the city too.
2. Karhu Aria
Karhu has more than 100 years of expertise in crafting running shoes, so it’s no surprise that they count winners of the Boston Marathon and Olympic Gold Medalists among their loyal supporters. The Aria Sneaker is designed with fulcrum technology that limits bounce and improves midfoot landing position, plus an air cushion that provides extra support and comfort. Not to mention a pretty fire color scheme and outsole.
Back in June 1964, SeaVees created the first casual California shoe that would go on to become one of the most iconic silhouettes in footwear. After awhile, SeaVees slowly faded out of existence, and it wouldn’t be until a chance encounter in a Tokyo thrift shop fifty years later that the brand would be revived. Today, it’s styles are based on classic designs that have been updated with modern colorways and materials like this Legend sneaker.
