I’ve been meaning to read more of Denis Johnson’s stories for a long time now, and this pocket-sized edition of Jesus’ Son seemed like a great place to start.
This is a deeply unsettling look into the mind of a man who spent the better part of his life watching others. Also highly recommend picking up Talese’s collection of short stories and essays High Notes. Plus, if you don’t already know — Frank Sinatra Has a Cold is incredible and ought to be required reading for everyone.
PJ Harvey’s sparse poetry is placed alongside Seamus Murphy’s haunting photos from Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Washington D.C taken between 2011-2014.
