Aimé Leon Dore x Clarks Casentino Wool Wallabees
Aimé Leon Dore launched their collaboration with Clarks this morning at 8AM PT // 11AM EST.
The Clarks Wallabee has always held a special spot in the heart of New York hip-hop. Raekwon rapped about them on “Incarcerated Scarfaces” (“Here's the policy, slide off the ring, plus the Wallabees…”) and Ghostface Killah even named a collection of remixes and b-sides “The Wallabee Champ.”
Nas (fellow Queens native and also a well-documented Wallabee fan) was featured prominently in the promotional photos for the Aimé Leon Dore x Clarks Casentino Wool Wallabees Collection.
These limited-edition Clarks Wallabees are built with superfine Italian Casentino wool, while keeping some of the classic suede detailing on the ankle collar and toe box stitch strip.
The sole retains the original crepe rubber design, and there are a handful of other thoughtful details — like two suede swing tags, a woven ALD collar label, and stamped branding.
This special release is being handcrafted at Clark’s premium factory in Portugal.
